- Missiles are launched from portable launch units. To guide the missile, the gunner's job is to keep the launch unit's sight on the target.
- The missile in the 9Kl 11 system is an effective weapon in all seasons and all kinds of climate and weather conditions, including mountainous areas with a temperature range of -50° C to +50° C, and dry and wet tropical climate conditions.
- It can be launched at dawn, dusk and during the night by artificially illuminating the area with the aid of standard military lighting installations.
