20/3 M55

The standard towed version of the M55 is designed for infantry use. The M55 consists of three licensed guns (Hispano-Suiza HS.804 20 mm L/70) held in place on a single mount and a carriage towed for transport.

  • Carriage clearance is 230-380 mm (depending on model). The maximum speed on asphalt road is 70 km/h.
  • Stay ammunition. 20×110mm: M60 armor-piercing grenade pointer/marker, TZO M57 explosive torch cartridge and exercise grenade (M79 and M77)
  • M55A2Bl: Weapon control is manual with two guardrails. The gunner aims with the optical-mechanical sight PANS-20/3 and opens fire with a pedal.
  • M55A3Bl: Hydraulic directional drive of the gun powered by the small gasoline engine "Wankel" to the right of the lower seat. The shooter uses that stick to gain control.
  • M55A4B: The engine is located under the gunner's seat. A new optical sight J-171 was installed. A thin roof shield is installed in front of the office area and the gunner,
  • M55A4Ml: A modified A4 B 1 system upgraded with a Galileo J1 71 ballistic computer, mounted in a turret mounted on the upper roof of the BOV armored personnel carrier.
  • M71/08: This version is installed on ships. The guns and ammunition box (mounted below the base of the gun), the mount and the cartridge collector are positioned to protect against water.
